Teaching English in an online group class

This course is for teachers whose first language is not English, but who already have good English. You do not need perfect grammar. You need a simple plan, clear instructions, and ways to keep a group talking on a screen.

The ideas work on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, ClassIn, Tencent Meeting, Google Meet, and similar tools. The buttons have different names. The teaching job is the same.

1. See what stays the same when you leave a physical classroom, and what extra jobs appear.
2. Set up audio, camera, chat, screen share, and breakout rooms so students can join the work.
3. Plan a 45-minute group lesson with one aim, clear stages, and a backup if the technology fails.
4. Practise the first five minutes, instructions, and ways to include quiet students.
5. Submit a lesson plan for a trainer to mark. A certificate is issued after you pass and verify your identity.
